Fabric Printing and Apparel Manufacturing
Digital fabric printing is done with ink jet technology. It uses inks formulated for specific kinds of fabrics. The fabric is fed through a printer, which applies the design through thousands of tiny ink drops. The fabric must then be heated or steamed to set the design and make it permanent.
Apparel production, also known as garment production, is a process where fabric is being converted into garments. The term apparel production is basically used when garments are manufactured in a factory.
Textile printing is the process of applying colour to fabric in definite patterns or designs. In properly printed fabrics the colour is bonded with the fibre, so as to resist washing and friction. Textile printing is related to dyeing but in dyeing properly the whole fabric is uniformly covered with one colour, whereas in printing one or more colours are applied to it in certain parts only, and in sharply defined patterns.
Sampling is a process where factory develop garment samples according to buyer’s specified design. This is also known as product development stage. Samples are required at various stages to get approval from buyer on a particular design.
